Here at Peelham we like to offer quality¬†and diversity in the choices of meat to our¬†¬†customers from our organic farm and ¬†free-ranging livestock. ¬† This is particularly so¬†at Christmas time when everyone likes to celebrate good will to all with good food !
At Peelham Farm, organic produce at the centre of our business ethos, and we are proud of our hand-reared and free range meat. Whilst the argument for eating organic extends to all food, our particular emphasis is on meat (of course!). In this month‚Äôs post, we thought we would compile a handy list of some of the reasons why incorporating organic food into your weekly shop makes complete sense. Whether it‚Äôs organic meat or organic veg, buying organic produce.
Our organic steaks all come from our organic grassland farm in Berwickshire where all our livestock are free-ranging.¬† The steaks are prepared by our expert butchers on the day of order.
All of Peelham‚Äôs organic meat comes from its free-range stock, and is prepared traditionally by our craft butchers here on Peelham Farm. Meat from our free-ranging livestock tastes great in stew.

For our endeavours as organic farmers,¬†aspirations and achievment in maintaining both provenance and quality directly from our farm we were awarded the Scottish Rural Award for Agriculture (for which we were nominated), at a gala dinner and ceremony in Edinburgh on March 31st. ¬†It is our method of farming that caught the judges eye “Peelham stays true to its beliefs and commitment to quality and is proof that there is room for organic mixed farming and butchery in every part of the food supply chain”. ¬†They went on to¬†comment¬† “The risk the Peelham Farm partnership initially took in 1990 has been built and developed to bring a creative vision to farming which has included going organic, increasing the farm’s pig numbers, building an on-site butchery and, more recently Peelham Farms own charcuterie and prosciutto curing facilities”. ¬†Stunned !!
