What are we about here at Peelham Farm ?

 

Amanda, Chris and Denise are the Peelham Farm business partners (Cayley Walton Partners).  They have been in partnership since 1990.  Joining Amanda Cayley gave Chris and Denise Walton a chance to realise their dream to farm in their own right (Chris had previously worked on farms since his early teens).  Joining Chris and Denise gave Amanda the chance to sit-back and relax - or at least that was the plan......you will never catch Amanda 'sitting-back' other than during Cheltenham Racing Week or Wimbledon (and a few sporting fixtures in-between) !

 

The partnership have brought a creative vision to farming, loving and trusting Peelham; with their respective backgrounds in Landscape Ecology and Agricultural Economics Denise and Chris came with new ideas and methods, and together with Amanda the partnership have an energy to realise the opportunities in these ideas.  Chris and Denise's son, Angus works as a professional Wild Atlantic Salmon Fishing Guide in arctic Russia and hopes eventually to bring a whole raft of even more new and exciting ideas back to Peelham - Watch-out everybody !

 

The partnership beleive that people are the most valuable resource to any business and are so lucky to have a great and dedicated team of skilled people around them (and fun too !!):

 

On the farm (Chris is the farm managing partner):

Ewan Walker  Assistant Farm Manager (and most recent recruit)

Andrew Watson - Andrew has been with the partnership for the longest, putting up with them for a total of 16 years (wow !) and is their main tractor-man

Jim Moorhead - is easing into retirement with a few mornings each week on essential maintenance (and doing a fab job repairing the pig arks !)>

In the butchery (Denise is the farm-produce managing partner and Amanda does the essential delivering to our customers and is especially attached to the mincer when in the butchery !):

Daniel McLeod is a craft butcher and is Peelham's head butcher (and butchery teacher par excellence)

Iain Methven has recently passed his butchery apprenticeship with us and is aiming for his craft butchery certificate

Alan Methven is responsible for the crucial HACCP and food traceability and also helps Chris with the farm book-keeping and Denise with sales (phew ... flexi-man !).

AND .... at the essential hub of it all in the office is Gail Sherwood Peelham's Office Manager who holds all those loose-strings together - particularly those that everyone else forgets and keeps the Peelham Farm Produce books and invoices in order - and also helps with sales etc etc  (phew....flexi-woman !!).
